Anxiety is a highly treatable condition, but understanding how it takes hold in your family is instrumental in helping your child. This is a primary focus of parent workshops.

Workshops will give you an understanding of why so many kids are more anxious than ever before, as well as important education around how to manage it. A workshop is often an ideal first step in getting help for your child.

Workshops may be held virtually or in-person.

Format: 1-2 hours, depending on session focus. Virtual workshops are run on Zoom.

    Cost: Varies/private pay only

  • Consultations

You may realize that you’re struggling in your role as a parent, but aren't sure what exactly you need or what possible steps you can take to address your concerns. This is a good reason to seek consultation with a mental health professional who specializes in child development.

When you consult with a therapist, you're not a patient. Consulting with a mental health provider can be a way to determine next steps, including whether or not the therapist could be a good fit for ongoing support.

A consultation may be one session, or several sessions. Similar to speaking with a lawyer or an accountant, you're seeking guidance in someone’s area of expertise.

    What I Offer

I offer parenting consultations as described above to parents seeking guidance around concerns for their child’s mental health, behavioral challenges, emotional well-being, social concerns or school-related issues.

I am happy to set up an initial (complimentary) phone call so that you can determine whether you wish to consult with me, and I can determine whether I have the expertise for what needs you have.

Consultation is not covered by health insurance. Cost per consultation meeting is $300/hr.

About Me

Hi, I’m Liz.I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) with my Bachelor’s in Child Development from Tufts University, and my master’s in Social Work from Columbia University. I’m also a mom of three school-aged kids.

I’ve spent over 20 years working with children and families in a variety of settings. These days my clinical work is focused on helping parents navigate the challenges and anxieties of modern parenthood.

I’m particularly interested in working with parents to help you better understand how anxiety takes root in families, and to help you navigate your child’s anxiety as quickly and effectively as possible.

While I’m serious about my job, I don’t take myself too seriously, and I don’t think that therapy needs to feel formal in order to be helpful!

I’m also fully in the trenches of parenthood!

  • I do! I'm contracted with BCBS, Harvard Pilgrim, Cigna, Tufts, Allways and United Behavioral Health.

Parenting is no joke.

Raising kids is a lot of things – easy, effortless, 100% joyful are the first things that come to mind.

HAHAHAHA! Ha.

Let’s be honest. Raising kids is hard! Like, harder than graduating from high school, but probably easier than serving in the army. It’s mid-level hard but on particularly long days feels Navy Seal hard.

I’m not a Navy Seal but I’m pretty sure if you asked one they’d agree.

The good news is it’s normal to feel this way.

Of course it’s hard! We’re raising small humans here, and small humans will TAKE YOU DOWN if you don’t:

  • Understand how to manage their anxiety (and yours!)

  • Have a good sense of humor

  • Have a solid support network

That’s where I can help.

I would not be nearly as happy or as confident as a parent if not for Liz. Over three years she has provided invaluable perspectives on life with a newborn, expanding my family, and now raising siblings. She approaches each session with empathy, compassion, and a good dose of humor. I have never felt silly or dismissed discussing any of my (many) parenting anxieties. Her feedback is honest, relatable, but most importantly, actionable. Liz has helped me become a better parent and partner. I enjoy my family so much more now and am truly grateful!
